I think a good multi-vitamin will help. I’d also recommend taking an immune booster…like Dr. Weil’s immune formula. It contains Reishi mushrooms and astragalus, which both help boost immunity.
Make sure you are eating a healthy diet that includes five fruits and vegetables a day, plus getting at least 7 hours of sleep per night. Also, try using lots of garlic and ginger when you cook, as both have strong anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
Good luck to you!
If you are eating a balanced diet and taking a multi-vitamin you are doing the right thing to help fight colds. The best defense against colds is to wash your hands frequently. Making sure you get selenium in your diet with help also. You can find selenium in seafood and whole grain breads. If you choose to take a multi-vitamin make sure it has adequate amounts of selenium and vitamin E.
stress will lower your immune system so… try to DE stress if at all possible with yoga or a nice walk- a good book etc… a diet in live foods (via salads and fruits) uncooked are best fighter of bad guys– but if you can’t get enough of that in you - garlic is a great anti viral- and can be purchased in tablet form– elderberry is good also— Vita c and zinc- a good multi + garlic pill– lotsssssss of fresh water- and be careful of what you put on your skin as well- parabens are a no no as are sodium laurel sulfates- check the ingredients- if you won’t put it in your body don’t put it on your skin!!! wash your hands frequently!!!! I have a friend who swears by airborne- maybe when there is a bad case of the sickies you could supplement with that—olive leaf extract is great - there are so many that help the immune system– but you could not and should not take them all — read up on the ones you like and try them– be careful like anything they have side affects- garlic will thin your blood so if you have high blood pressure you would not want to take it—
