Vitamin B1 deficiency. It is required for transformation of pyruvic acid to acetyl CoA. Vitamin B5 is required for formation of acetyl CoA, also. I guess you could take vitamin B supplements and see if the condition improves. if not, then it would be a PDK enzyme problem.
